Founded in 1983, Bishop Hamilton Montessori School is a CCMA-accredited, not-for-profit independent school offering a Christian Montessori education to approximately 200 students in the Ottawa area.

Montessori Trained Directors

We are preparing for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year and invite interested Toddler, Casa and
Elementary Guides to submit their resume.

Job Type: Full Time

Start Date: September 2026

Key Responsibilities

Provide a caring and nurturing atmosphere in the classroom and throughout the school
Plan and implement lesson plans
Manage and guide individual student behaviour
Maintain accurate records including long and short-term lesson plans, observations and student
individual progress
Conduct parent teacher conferences and prepare written progress reports

Qualifications

AMI or MACTE Montessori teacher training diploma
A minimum of 3 years classroom experience
Bachelor of education is an asset
Attributes
Ability to work within a collaborative team environment
Well-developed interpersonal, oral and written communication
Reliability, with a high degree of personal integrity
Effective classroom management and organizational skills

Classroom Assistant

We are preparing for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year and are inviting interested candidates to
submit their resume.

Job Type: Full Time

Start Date: August 2026

Key Responsibilities

Assume a non-teaching, supportive role
Maintain open and regular communication with the Classroom Director
Assist in the preparation and maintenance of the Prepared Environment
Assist children as needed with hygiene and toileting, dressing and eating habits
Attend and contribute to staff meetings, in-house professional development and school wide
events, contributing to the School Community and spirit

Qualifications

Montessori training or ECE certification preferred
Experience working with children

Ability to work within a collaborative team environment
Effective classroom management skills, positive attitude, team player
Well-developed interpersonal skills, including oral and written communication
Reliability, with a high degree of personal integrity
Ability to follow direction with a desire to learn and develop
